WFY Design Contest Winner
The Wired for Youth Design Contest was held from October 7-28, 2002 for youth ages 8 to 18 and brought in many creative design entries.
The Library selected three judges who are marketing professionals and graphic designers; Alan Watts, computer animator and software developer, Dave Shaw, Vice President at Tate Austin, and Vania Lanas, Graphic Designer.
Michael Ford's winning design (right) was selected based on its originality, uniqueness, and applicability to the WFY mission. The judges had the difficult task of selecting from the top three entries.
An announcement party was held on Wednesday, November 13 at the University Hills Branch of the Austin Public Library. The radio station Beat 104.3 broadcast live from the event.
