About Jaclyn DiGregorio

Jaclyn DiGregorio is an author, speaker, and entrepreneur. We’re excited to chat with her about her experience writing, publishing, and promoting!

About The Book

I have been an entrepreneur for almost 4 years now, and it has been quite the journey. I’ve experienced so many failures over the years and quite a few times thought about giving up on my dreams. Through this process of building a business, I was forced to grow at an incredibly accelerated rate. If I wanted to be successful, I had no choice but to let go of the limiting beliefs and bad habits that were holding me back. Once I finally did, I hit my business breakthrough. I created my first 6 figure year and began building my team so I didn’t have to chase my dreams alone. Everything began to change. I started achieving goals that I once thought were impossible. I became obsessed with wanting to help others, especially female entrepreneurs, create these same breakthroughs in their lives. Thus, Stop Getting In Your Own Way was born. In each chapter, I share something I stopped doing in my life that, to be successful, readers must also stop doing in their lives.

Book Marketing Strategies

This is my second book so I had a bit of experience with this one. A strategy I used for both books was a pre-sale campaign. This built up the hype for the launch and helped me create traction early on. I also started building my audience long before this book (or my first) launched. As a motivational speaker, I often travel to colleges, conferences and corporations to share my story. Every time I speak I continue to build my audience. Thus because I have been speaking for years, when Stop Getting In Your Own Way dropped I already had a group of supportive people who couldn’t wait to read it in my corner. If you’re someone reading this who wants to write a book, start building your audience today. It’s never too early.

Lessons Learned From Writing

I remember being so concerned about the word count for this book. It was significantly shorter than my first book, which was well over 200 pages while Stop Getting In Your Own Way was is 161. This was super counterintuitive because while length was my biggest fear, my readers told me that their favorite thing about Stop Getting In Your Own Way is that it was a quick and easy read without fluff. It was tangible with takeaways they could apply today, and it didn’t take them months and months to get through. They absolutely loved the style and length. Not all audiences are the same, but I’ve learned that this is how I prefer to write and this is how my audience prefers to consume so it’s a win-win.

Jaclyn’s Book Recs

I love reading. My goal is to read one book a week. I typically read non-fiction, mostly personal development or business books. Some of my favorites include:

Connect With Jaclyn

My favorite thing in the world to do is speak to audiences. My signature keynote is called ” Stop Getting In Your Own Way: Shift Your Perspective & Ignite Your Success” and in it I highlight why mindset is the key to success, why failure is inevitable and how to get out of your comfort zone.
