About Hailey Feldman
I’m Hailey Feldman and I am the Head of Brand for Mixed Digital as well as a brand consultant. I studied in Manhattan at NYU, focusing on research and teaching. Today, I help new businesses, products, services, and personalities launch in their markets. I describe my work as the “back end of branding.” The word branding is associated with logos, typography, and color palettes. However, there is a tremendous amount of research and positioning that comes prior to a stellar Facebook Page cover photo. I grew up only knowing entrepreneurialism. I watched my father create and build companies. I never fit in with the “corporate 9-5” grind. In fact, I left my job on Madison Avenue one afternoon because I wasn’t running as many social media campaigns as I was coffee runs. A true millennial, I decided to launch my own company. With very little experience in advertising and a miniscule budget, I made a decision. That is powerful – making a decision and bringing it to life – that’s courageous (and extremely risky!)
About Feldman Marketing
I started Equestrian Marketing out of my studio apartment in Manhattan. I called it an “agency” which consisted of me and one intern. I chose to offer marketing services to the equestrian sports world because I am an avid and lifelong show jumper! I tell my clients, “know thy industry.”

How Did You Get Your First Several Customers Or Users? How Many Users Or Customers Do You Have Now?
My first customer, BoneKare USA, was the most exciting moment of my life! I remember looking at the check for $2,500.00 – I realized in that moment I had truly created a company that was worthy of being hired. As excited as I was to obtain my first client, I knew I was delivering services valued at $75,000.00 for $2,500.00. It is important to get a client. Your first client is your true launch. I was able to then bring two major equestrian brands into my client roster, simply because I had one client and a portfolio with proven results. Today, I have a small circle of clients who operate within the lifestyle and luxury markets. I’d tell you who my 5 amazing clients are, but unfortunately, NDAs must be honored! Hint: If you love to shop designer brands, you may have browsed threw one of my clients’ ecommerce stores.
How Does Your Company Grow And Acquire New Customers?
Equestrian Marketing was acquired by Mixed Digital after only being in business for 7-months. Today, I work with Mixed Digital’s CEO to further the agency’s services and niche industries. We acquire new customers through a mix of digital marketing tactics. Recently, we replied to a Facebook question and landed a new client! Social media is an online party. You can stand in the corner and not meet anyone, or, you can be a social butterfly and spread your wings! In addition to working with Mixed Digital, I have my own site, haileyfeldman.com. Hailey Feldman is a Branding and Marketing Consultant, Equestrian, and Life and Style Creator of the Palm Beaches. For people who demand the finest from life—a well-rounded life that is uniquely glamorous and authentically expressed, Hailey Feldman’s lifestyle website presents stories, research, and imagery to inspire the art of being unique, and the art of hand-picked elegance. The epitome of simple chic, Hailey Feldman is for those who seek unique.
What Actionable Tips And Tricks Do You Have For New Founders Who Are Looking To Get Their First Thousand Users Or Dollars?
Great question. Networking is everything. Get on Twitter and read every blog you can. Digital marketing is an industry that allows anyone to become an expert. Participate in target audience social discussions. Also, go traditional! Where is your audience online and in person?
What Is Something You’ve Learned That Would Not Be Obvious To Somebody Who Hasn’t Worked In Your Space Before?
Be careful about industry-specific terminology. It can impress or scare a lead. I specialize in brand market research and brand positioning strategy writing. I’ve learned that clients do not usually read my Brand Market Research Report of 50-5000 pages. They want to get answers. How are they going to be competitive? How are they going to grab a piece of their industry’s marketshare and how will they continue to carve out slices of marketshare overtime. My clients may not understand how much research and analysis goes into writing a brand positioning statement, however, remaining confident and assured with what you know inspires trust.
What’s The Craziest Thing That’s Happened To You (Good Or Bad) On Your Founder Journey?
Ha! Craziest Bad: My former assistant who had just been promoted to Social Media Manager had a very public and quite horrifying kissing session with one of my clients. Craziest Bad: Being told by my CEO that our prospect who I had acquired did not wish to discuss the proposal’s pricing if I were present in the meeting. We presented the proposal and the negotiations were handled by the men. Craziest Good: William Shatner donating thousands of dollars to a charity I started with my horseback riding trainer via GoFundMe.
