Brandon Sanderson was born in December 1975 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He began writing at the age of six, completing his first novel at the age of twelve. He continued to write, completing the final book in the trilogy nine years later. He attended Brigham Young University, where he received degrees in English and Creative Writing. He lives with his wife and children in Utah.
Brandon Sanderson is a prolific fantasy writer, having written over twenty novels and a number of short stories. He is best known for his Mistborn series, The Stormlight Archive, and The Reckoners series. His works have been published in a number of languages and have sold millions of copies. His works have been nominated for several awards, and he has won the Hugo Award for Best Novella in 2013 for his work, The Emperor’s Soul.
